Those who have either seen the anime of FIRE TRIPPER or read the manga short in RUMIC WORLD TRILOGY are familiar with the story of a schoolgirl who travels back in time to the age of samurai. This is premise is revised in Takahashi's new manga, INU YASHA. This time, young Kagome falls down a well near her family's temple and ends up in the Japanese middle ages. She then frees a demon boy pinned to a tree with a magic arrow who has been stuck there for years(this might sound a little familiar for you USHIO & TORA fans). From there, Kagome learns the demon is Inu Yasha, a crossbreed human and demon with dog ears and a long white mane. The two of them set out to find the shattered pieces of the Shikon Jewel which is supposed to grant any wish. The pieces turn out all over the landscape. Kagome frequently goes back to the present but helps out Inu Yasha and their newly acquired band of friends who seek to find the pieces and restore the land to peace. There is of course the romantic interest between the two main characters which they never ever admit to each other like any Takahashi spawn. The artwork is exquisite and one of Rumiko's best to date. The manga is being released simultaneously in America as well as Japan so it is not as behind as most other current titles. There is also an anime television series that is set to be brought out to the States soon too!

The winner of that contest just happens to be Mirai Ozora, college student, mall-rat and younger sister of Hiroshi. When Mirai stumbles upon the suit plans in her brother's bedroom, she decides to implement a few 'design changes.' Later, when the Machinegal Dolls make another attempt on the formula 1 car, during the race itself, Hiroshi springs into action, only to discover that his wondrous suit now looks like...his little sister. And aside from carrying laser blasters and flying around in giant spaceships, alien teen-age girls are apparently just like their Earthling counterparts. So by the end of the episode, the wakened mummy, named Ryoko, has managed to destroy most of Tenchi's home town and claim the Tenchster himself as her own personal stud-muffin. Tenchi's dad, in a truly spectacular display of boobness, is oblivious to the young lady's destructive capabilities and thrilled his awkward progency has finally managed to get a date. Several albums and drama albums later, an anime was released in late 1997. Also available is the manga written by Koyasu Takehito and drawn by manga artist Tsuchiya Kyoko called WEISS: AN ASSASSIN AND WHITE SHAMAN published by Shinshokan.
The story is simple: Weiss is given a mission by Persia, which they must carry out using their unique weapon-wielding abilities. Aya uses his mighty samurai sword to exact his type of silent justice. Ken swipes his victims with razor-sharp bugnuk (tiger claws). Youji strangles his targets with an almost-invisible wire, leaving grisly hanged corpses for any unlucky late visitors to the killing. Omi uses distance to his advantage by stealthily shooting his enemies with a variety of darts and arrows. Omi is also the intelligence behind Weiss as he uses his computer skills to hack into mainframes from his handy laptop.
